In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Florida Panthers made quick work of the Carolina Hurricanes, sweeping them 4-0. Matthew Tkachuk has become the best player in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and is looking to bring the Panthers their first Stanley Cup title in franchise history. The last time the IceCats made the Stanley Cup Finals was 1996, but they were swept, 4-0, by the Colorado Avalanche.
After defeating the Dallas Stars, 4-2, in the Western Conference Finals, the Golden Knights have advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals for the second time in their franchise’s 6 year history. In 2017-2018, their inaugural season, the Golden Knights were defeated, 4-1, by the Washington Capitals in their first Stanley Cup appearance. This series will be the first time since the Knights last appearance that two teams who haven’t won the Stanley Cup are going head-to-head for the trophy.
